The Contracts Administrator & Paralegal manages Cochlear’s contract management database and provides vital paralegal support to the CLTD Legal Team, ensuring effective contract handling, compliance, and administrative assistance within the legal function.

The Opportunity

Cochlear has an opportunity for a full-time, fixed-term Contracts Administrator & Paralegal based in our Sydney office. In this role, the successful Contracts Administrator & Paralegal will oversee the contract management system, provide technical support, liaise with vendors, perform paralegal duties, and actively support the legal team in optimizing operations.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the contract management system (CMS), including contract review, data entry, reminders, and report generation.

  • Providing training and technical support for CMS users and administering system updates.

  • Liaising with external vendors for CMS software support and contract uploads.

  • Conducting legal research, filing, and drafting non-legal and legal documents.

  • Assisting with drafting and reviewing standard contracts like confidentiality agreements.

  • Collaborating with the CLTD Legal Team on strategies for enhanced legal function efficiency.

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum 3rd year law student with contract law subject completed

  • Excellent communication skills

  • High level of organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to be proactive and effectively manage time

  • Ability to quickly develop advanced knowledge of a CMS

Desired Skills

  • Prior paralegal experience

  • Prior CMS experience
