Job Summary: The Contractor Sales Associate 1 is responsible for assisting contractors with purchases, providing excellent customer service, uphold our Core Values, help create the best hardware store experience possible, generate sales, merchandise product and support the store management team.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
- Outside Sales
- Know and perform the Seven Steps of Customer Service.
- Stock and maintain assigned area of store.
- Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
- Execute the daily operational, day to day goals and priorities assigned by store management.
- Answer phone, this is the lifeline to our business.
- Complete customer sales and returns.
- Continue to grow and expand product knowledge.
- Maintain communication between other salesclerks and departments.
- Keep updated on new technology and products in the hardware and building industries.
- Understand competitors and their practices.
- Be a team player and foster a team atmosphere.
- Execute the daily operational, day to day goals and priorities assigned by store management.

- High School Graduate or Vocational School Graduate.
- At least two year’s experience in building materials/hardware industry.
- Experience: Sales and marketing experience with retail programs, establishing relationships, and working with customers .
- Skills/Knowledge: Knowledge of retail computer systems, MS Word, and Excel is a plus.

- Excellent communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, high attention to detail, and ability to multi-task
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to independently lift up to 100 lbs on a frequent basis
- Able to stand for up 8 hours a day
- Standing, stretching, squatting, lifting, crouching, kneeling, and other awkward positions.
- Climbing and descending ladders.
- The yard environment is characterized by the presence of noise, vehicular fumes and other elements found in a yard environment. Exposure to varying weather conditions including temperature extremes and precipitation.
Skills Required

- At least two years experience in building materials/hardware industry
