Contractor Rehabilitation Counsellor – Flexible Locations

Are you a qualified Rehabilitation Counsellor looking for flexible contract work with purpose? Join a team that’s committed to helping people recover, rebuild, and return to work and life.

We’re seeking experienced Contractor Rehabilitation Counsellors to deliver high-quality vocational rehabilitation services across a range of schemes including workers’ compensation, CTP, and government-funded programs across the following regions:

  • Coffs Harbour
  • Port Macquarie
  • Lismore / Tweed Heads
  • Dubbo

About the opportunity:

As a contractor, you’ll enjoy autonomy and flexibility while working with a supportive multidisciplinary team. You’ll provide tailored rehabilitation services to clients experiencing injury, illness, or disability—helping them achieve sustainable return-to-work outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct vocational and psychosocial assessments
  • Develop and implement individualised return-to-work plans
  • Provide counselling and support for physical and psychological injuries Liaise with employers, insurers, and health professionals
  • Maintain accurate case notes and meet compliance standards

What You’ll Bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Rehabilitation Counselling, Social Work or Psychology
  • Full registration with ASORC, AASW or APHRA
  • Considerable experience working in occupational rehabilitation and proven track record of contracting with other clients.
  • Strong communication and case management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own caseload
  • Full driver's licence and own vehicle
