As Contractor Management Manager, you will shape and lead the operational model for contractor performance across the Huntly and Willowdale mining operations, working at the intersection of Operations, Maintenance, HSE, Procurement, HR and Finance. You will establish clear ownership across the full contractor lifecycle, from strategy, sourcing and prequalification through mobilisation, delivery, performance review, renewal and close-out.

This is a visible, enterprise-level leadership role with the mandate to strengthen safety, compliance, service reliability and commercial value. You will move confidently between the field and senior leadership forums, translating operational insight and contract data into practical decisions, early intervention and sustained improvement.

What you will lead

  • Lead contractor management strategy and governance by embedding Alcoa’s Global Contractor Management Standard, establishing clear accountabilities, governance frameworks and minimum performance expectations across WA Mining.
  • Oversee the end-to-end contractor lifecycle from sourcing and prequalification through onboarding, mobilisation, performance management, contract renewal and demobilisation, ensuring consistent standards and business outcomes.
  • Strengthen contractor safety, risk and assurance performance through field leadership, critical control verification, risk-based audits, compliance reviews, event learning and effective corrective action management.
  • Drive contractor performance and commercial value by implementing transparent KPI frameworks, contractor scorecards, governance forums, productivity improvement initiatives, scope discipline, variation control and cost optimisation.
  • Build collaborative partnerships across the business by working closely with Operations, Maintenance, HSE, Procurement, HR and Finance to resolve issues proactively, manage claims and disputes constructively, and align contractor delivery with operational priorities.
  • Develop capability and continuous improvement through coaching contract owners, frontline leaders and contractor partners, leveraging performance data and operational insights to identify emerging risks, drive sustainable improvements and provide clear reporting to operational and senior leadership.

You will create a consistent, insight-led contractor operating model where safety, compliance, delivery and commercial value reinforce one another.

Success will be visible through stronger field execution, clearer ownership, earlier risk intervention, dependable service outcomes and sustainable value delivery across WA Mining.
