Contract Systems Engineer

M&S is working with a Florida based company seeking a contract position for 4-6 months with possible extension. This work is remote with some possible onsite requests. 

Job Summary: The Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining IT infrastructure, focusing on VMWare vSphere vCenter ELM (Enhance Linked Mode), HPE GreenLake, ESXI and DHCI, Veeam (backup, replication, recovery). This role requires a deep understanding of hybrid cloud platforms, automated storage systems, and data protection technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and Implementation:

  • Design, deploy, and manage HPE GreenLake hybrid cloud solutions to optimize IT infrastructure.
  • Implement Veeam backup and disaster recovery solutions to ensure data protection and business continuity.
  • Understanding of Vmware and components

• System Management:

  • Monitor and manage all installed systems and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and configuration changes to maintain security and efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain custom scripts to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency.

• Collaboration and Support:

  • Work closely with IT, operations, and other departments to understand and address their system needs.
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for system-related issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Liaise with vendors and service providers to resolve technical problems and optimize system performance.

• Documentation and Reporting:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Generate regular reports on system performance, availability, and security status.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in systems engineering, with a focus on hybrid cloud platforms, automated storage systems, and data protection technologies.
• Strong knowledge of HPE GreenLake, VMware, and Veeam solutions.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Familiarity with network infrastructure and cybersecurity best practices.
• Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., HPE, Veeam).
