Contract Specialist
The Contract Specialist is responsible for ensuring contract integrity through the evaluation of contract structure, risk alignment, and compliance with company standards. This role leads contract execution within the Sales cycle, including contract development, review, and risk mitigation, while driving high-quality legal and commercial outcomes for internal and external stakeholders. The position partners cross-functionally across departments and organizational levels to enforce standards, facilitate decision-making, and ensure effective communication and alignment.
Responsibilities:
- Provides guidance to Sales and leadership on contract structure, risk trade-offs, and acceptable deviations.
- Review contracts for risk management and service needs including compliance with predetermined guidelines, including indemnity/liability, early termination on contracts with high support costs, penalty clauses, OEM proprietary licensing restrictions, and payment terms.
- Understand Park Place’s evolving services and products and participate in contract development.
- Prepare and submit transactional paperwork for customers, vendors, etc.
- Draft contract language that meets company standards and customer needs
- Work to manage risks within the parameters set by the company.
- Evaluates and approves non-standard contract terms within defined risk thresholds
- Maintain legal files appropriately and logically.
- Independently assesses legal and financial risk and determines appropriate contract modifications.
- Participate in process improvement identification and implementation.
- Perform legal research and analyze results.
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- 1 or more years of experience in legal contract evaluation and administration.
- Microsoft Office suite with advanced skills and database experience.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration and communication within team, with Sales team and customers and a commitment to professionalism and congeniality.
- Able to multi-task and work under tight deadlines and pressure.
- Ability to work productively and collaboratively with others – both onsite and remote sites.
- Great attention to detail.
- Experience using contract management systems, software, and policies implemented by Park Place Technologies.
- Understands legal and financial risks and implications of contracts, including the entire Sales to Invoice contracting process.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Law degree, paralegal degree or certificate or significant experience in contract analysis and administration required.
- Exceptional English language skills, including contract drafting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in a foreign language, with strong preference for Spanish and/or Portuguese.
