What you'll do:
This position will be a 3 month contract responsible for preparation of financial statements and management reports, maintaining accounting/financial systems, conducting research and analysis of financial data and assisting with annual planning.

Responsibilities include:
- Help lead the month end close process, including journal entry preparation related to transactions: Investment Entries, Loans, Monthly Accruals, Expense & Revenue Recognition, Equity & Stock, Intercompany Settlement and Elimination Entries
- Prepare month end account reconciliations including documentation and workpaper support
- Responsible for Daily Cash and Suspense Reconciliations including investigating and resolving suspense items
- Assist with developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures in accordance with accounting standards and regulations
- Maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of financial statements, footnotes and disclosures as well as periodic regulatory filings
- Collaborate across departments to ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in accordance with GAAP
- Identify opportunities to streamline the accounting process and drive process improvements
- Support External and Internal audit requests
- Conduct variance analysis, highlighting trends investigating discrepancies
- Participate in special projects and new product implementations
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
- Professional certification (CFM, CMA, or CPA) or advanced degree
- At least 5 years in accounting, preferably in financial services or fintech
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, FDIC/OCC standards
- Creative problem-solving skills adept at managing competing multiple projects with competing priorities
- Very good organization skills to ensure delivery of work meets deadlines
- Ability to read and interpret technical research and reports and apply information to specific business situations
- Highly proficient with MS Excel and Word
- Able to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner
- Effectively and promptly communicate in verbal and written interactions with vendors, employees and other stakeholders
- Extraordinary attention to detail with the highest level of care for your clients and their experiences
- High degree of accountability and independence in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
