Manage operational and financial performance of infrastructure and capital works contracts across the North West. Oversee design, delivery and commercial teams, ensure HSE and quality compliance, control documentation, manage subcontractors, cash forecasts, programmes and P&L, lead tender activity, assess and mitigate site risks, and build and develop a delivery team while supporting client outcomes and business development.

Due to an influx of work, we are on the lookout for a Contract Manager. As a Contract Manager, you will be responsible for the operational and financial performance of the contract; delivering a wide range of Infrastructure Projects and Capital Works, across with North West.
You will support the client in delivering their key outcomes; delivery of key contract KPI’s and full management of delivery and back office will be a key element of the role.
You will oversee the design, delivery and commercial teams, to ensure our Non-Core programme of work is delivered safely, to the right quality, on programme and to the client’s budget.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for someone to:
- Ensure all work within the contracts under your control are carried out in full compliance with health, safety, welfare and environmental regulations while working to maximise the profitability of each contract and ensuring satisfaction of contractual requirements
- Ensure cash forecasts, construction programmes and progress updates to the client are as accurate as possible and submitted on time
- Be responsible for ensuring the contract’s Profit & Loss performance is in line with forecast each week
- Take an active part in leading on new tender opportunities released by the client
- Manage subcontractor relationships; agreeing T&C’s where required, both operationally and commercially
- Ensure compliance with the client’s authorisation requirements and specifications, with the company standards of service and quality systems
- Control documentation from cradle to grave with an overall responsibility for the delivery and handover of schemes
- Ensure that the sub-contractors and direct labour are assessed in terms of their health and safety competence prior to commencing work for on and behalf of the company
- Assess the risk associated with our operations and ensuring that suitable and sufficient site-specific method statements and risk assessments are compiled with in advance of works
- Help to build a new delivery team and support the development of the people in your team
- Ensure the safety, consistency of approach and quality of delivery are always to a high standard
- Be an integral part of our business development approach, through client interface and company governance

Skills Required
- Experience managing infrastructure or capital works contracts (delivery and commercial management)
- Proven P&L responsibility and ability to manage cash forecasts and weekly financial performance
- Experience preparing and maintaining construction programmes, progress updates and client reporting
- Knowledge of health, safety, welfare and environmental regulations and ability to ensure compliance on projects
- Experience managing subcontractor relationships, agreements, and commercial/operational oversight
- Ability to assess site risks and compile site-specific method statements and risk assessments in advance of works
- Experience controlling project documentation through delivery and handover
- Experience leading tender activity and supporting business development/client engagement
- Team leadership and people development experience to build and support delivery teams
