Key responsibilities
In this role, you will lead and coordinate contract and claim management activities across our Robotics & Discrete Automation operations in Friedberg. You will be a key contact when it comes to assessing contract risks, supporting tender processes, and protecting ABB’s commercial interests during project execution. With your strong legal and commercial understanding, you will work closely with the legal department and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance, mitigate risks, and resolve disputes where needed.

This role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation Business Area in Friedberg (Germany). Main stakeholders include cross-functional departments at the Friedberg site and colleagues across the global ABB Robotics and Discrete Automation organization.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Identifying contract baselines and conducting risk assessments in line with internal guidelines and processes
Reviewing, negotiating, and managing selected contracts and non-disclosure agreements in close collaboration with the legal and business teams
Drafting and managing legal correspondence with customers and suppliers
Supporting the legal team in the resolution of disputes, claims, litigation, and arbitration
Protecting ABB’s contractual position throughout the project lifecycle, including change and deviation management
Ensuring compliance with the ABB Code of Conduct as well as global and local contract management standards and tools
You will join a collaborative and experienced team, where you will be able to contribute to your legal and commercial skills in a dynamic and international environment.
Qualifications for the role
Degree in Law, Business Law, or a comparable field with a solid understanding of economic and contractual frameworks
Practical experience in contract and claim management, ideally in an industrial or project-driven environment
Familiarity with contract law and risk assessment methodologies
Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
Hands-on mentality with a structured and customer-oriented approach
Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional and international teams
Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken
