As the Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialist, you will support the development and execution of strategies that drive Xylem’s Lean transformation. Your focus will be on enhancing value proposition to our customer while delivering significant financial results to the bottom line. This role requires an individual who can inspire and guide teams across multiple manufacturing sites in our Water Solutions and Services (WSS) business segment to achieve operational excellence through Lean principles.
Responsibilities:
Support multiple sites to drive cultural lean development and empowerment at a macro level, while supporting transformations and events to eliminate waste from the organization.
Lead CI implementation, standardization, and consistency across multiple sites (CI implementation, training and projects, CI processes, methods and tools to eliminate waste and promote flow).
Deliver Training and Coaching to teams and colleagues
Work with sites business leads to support their priorities and align CI projects to their needs
Proactively identify and communicate areas for operational and strategic improvement and share best practices / learning’s.
Mentor and coach in process mapping, 5S, VSM, etc. events with site cross-functional teams
Analyze current and past trends in KPI’s highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance.
Ability to create and finalize standard work documents / procedures and best practices

Skills and Abilities:
An excellent professional record with 2-7 years of industry experience in a lean / continuous improvement organization
Expert knowledge of lean business system implementation and development; capable of working independently, with minimal supervision
Demonstrated know-how and experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement Management
Demonstrated ability to apply Lean methodologies in non-manufacturing environments (e.g. Services, Transactional)
Proven record of financial data management, ability to read and draw conclusions from financial reports and P&L statements.
Excellent project management and team-player skills
Excellent Presentation skills, Facilitation skills, Influencing skills
Superior analytical skills combined with operational strength
Strong communication skills, energetic personality / mover and driver
Ability to work in and lead a team, showing initiative and commitment
Enjoy the challenges of working in an international, dynamic and fast-paced environment
Ability to drive a project both strategically, and hands-on enough to support at the team level
Ability to travel 25-50% as-required to cover assign sites
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline
Lean Certification or Lean / Six Sigma Black Belt Certification (Preferred)
The estimated salary range for this position is $100,000 to $120,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range. At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
Travel:
25% average. Typically 2-3 days per week to cover assigned sites.
Relocation assistance available for those needing to relocate to the Colorado Springs area.
