JOB DESCRIPTION:PURPOSE OF THE JOB
As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will drive practical improvement initiatives across departments in our rapidly expanding and increasingly automated distribution center in Machelen. You will connect data, processes, and people to identify and implement sustainable improvements, foster a Lean culture, and support the site’s transformation journey.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage and execute process improvement projects using Lean and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Analyze operational data to identify trends, inefficiencies, root causes, and improvement opportunities, and convert these insights into actionable solutions.
- Develop and maintain KPIs and dashboards to monitor performance and progress.
- Support the digitization of workflows and automation of reporting processes using tools such as PowerApps, PowerBI, and Alteryx.
- Contribute to the implementation and optimization of automation technologies and digital tools.
- Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, IT, and Support teams to implement data-driven solutions.
- Facilitate workshops and sessions to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Act as a change agent by applying Lean principles and engaging teams in improvement efforts.
- Apply project management principles to plan, execute, and monitor initiatives aligned with business goals.
- Challenge existing processes and assumptions to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Track project-related expenditures and identify cost reduction and process improvement opportunities.
- Prepare business cases for proposed improvements and support presentations to stakeholders.
- Ensure activities comply with internal and external processes, procedures, and guidelines (Quality, Environment, Safety, Health).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Economics, Industrial Management, or equivalent through experience.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in operational excellence, process engineering, or continuous improvement roles.
- Strong analytical skills and a data-driven mindset, with experience in tools such as Power BI, PowerApps, Excel, Alteryx, Business Objects, Visio, and automation platforms.
- Skilled in process mapping, trend analysis, and applying basic statistics to drive insights.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt preferred).
- Fluent in English; Dutch or French is a strong asset.
- Hands-on, proactive, and structured approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a dynamic, international environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Passionate about technology, innovation, and continuous improvement.
