Continuous Improvement Process Expert – GBS
About the Role
The Continuous Improvement (CI) Process Expert plays a critical role in advancing operational excellence across the Global Business Services (GBS) organization. This role drives the CI agenda across Contract Management and Commercial Excellence teams, enabling higher efficiency, quality, standardization, and value delivery in a regulated medical devices environment.
Working closely with the GBS Continuous Improvement Global Leader and the respective functional Tower Lead, this role is accountable for embedding CI into day-to-day operations, building sustainable capabilities, and delivering measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Drive Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Identify, prioritize, and execute improvement opportunities across Systems and Processes of Contract Management and Commercial Excellence teams (supporting the US sales team)
- Lead CI initiatives focused on cycle time reduction, process efficiency, quality, and service performance.
- Design and facilitate Kaizen and process improvement workshops; ensure disciplined execution and benefits realization.
- Establish project governance, performance metrics, and review rhythms to ensure sustained outcomes.
- Partner with operations and functional leaders to standardize and simplify processes aligned with global standards and compliance requirements.
- Embed a strong CI culture through Lean Six Sigma coaching, mentoring, and hands-on project delivery.
- Act as a trusted CI advisor, enabling data-driven decision-making for operations and the business
Digital Enablement & Automation
- Identify and deploy opportunities using low-code/no-code automation and analytics tools to drive efficiency.
- Hands-on use of tools such as Excel Macros, Power Automate, Power Query, Alteryx (or similar workflow tools).
- Collaborate with IT and digital teams to integrate automation into end-to-end process improvements.
Visualization & Data Insights
- Develop and leverage basic dashboards and visualizations using Power BI or Tableau to support performance tracking and insights.
- Promote data-driven culture through simple, effective reporting solutions.
Innovation, Ideation & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Drive ideation programs to encourage employee participation and ownership of improvements.
- Translate ideas into actionable plans with clear benefit tracking.
- Regularly report progress and impact to CI leadership and site stakeholders.
- Collaborate across global GBS teams, functional heads, and site leadership.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Data Analytics, Business, Pharma, or related field
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (Required)
Experience
- 10+ years in Shared Services/GBS, with 2–4 years in Process improvement/ Operational Excellence roles
- Exposure in supporting Sales/ Marketing/ Customer ops teams is a plus
Skills & Competencies
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Hands-on experience with automation tools (Power Automate, Excel Macros, Power Query, Alteryx or similar)
- Working knowledge of data visualization (Power BI/Tableau)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven mindset
- Effective stakeholder management, facilitation, and collaboration skills
- Understanding of Lean, CI methodologies, and change management
