We are looking for a “Continuous Improvement Partner” based at our Bucharest or Constanta, Romania* office to drive the adoption and continuous improvement of The Maersk Way (TMW) across the Country while leading high-impact business improvement and transformation initiatives. This role partners business leaders to solve operational challenges, improve processes, and deliver measurable business results through practical, sustainable solutions.

*This is an onsite role requiring 5 days presence in the office.

Key Responsibilities

Drive Operational Excellence

  • Lead the deployment and maturity of TMW across the Area.
  • Facilitate and coach teams on Lean, Kaizen, A3 problem solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on Operational Excellence and business transformation.
  • Work closely with senior leaders and teams across Operations, Customer Experience, Supply Chain, Finance, Product, Technology, and Operational Excellence, as well as Digital, Automation, and Data teams.

Lead Business Improvement Initiatives

  • Lead cross-functional projects focused on improving efficiency, quality, customer experience, and business performance.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and guide teams from problem definition through implementation.
  • Drive end-to-end process and operating model improvements, ensuring solutions are practical, scalable, and sustainable.
  • Support initiative governance, execution, and realization of business benefits.

Build Capability & Drive Change

  • Coach leaders, project teams, and Operational Excellence practitioners on improvement methodologies and change management.
  • Facilitate workshops, diagnostics, value stream mapping sessions, and problem-solving events.
  • Develop continuous improvement capabilities and promote best practices across the organization.

Enable Digital Transformation

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes through automation, digitalization, and data-driven decision making.
  • Partner with Digital, Automation, and Analytics teams to design and implement business solutions.
  • Ensure new solutions are adopted and embedded into day-to-day operations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 7–10+ years of experience in Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement, Lean Management, or Business Transformation.
  • Experience within logistics, supply chain, transportation, manufacturing, or other operational environments is a strong advantage.
  • Proven background leading cross-functional improvement and transformation initiatives with measurable business impact.
  • Strong working knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement tools, including: Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen, A3 Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, Standard Work, Daily Management Systems. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Experienced in working on digital, automation, or analytics-enabled transformation initiatives.
