POSITION SUMMARY:
Lead the design and deployment of the DuBois Production System, a structured and repeatable model transforming value streams across North America. Your mission: cultivate CI and problem solving as core capabilities, embedding sustainable improvements that deliver measurable operational performance and strategic advantage.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Leadership
- Support the Warehouse Manager in overseeing all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and shipping of materials.
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of warehouse staff to ensure safety, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels through regular cycle counts, audits, and use of warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Monitor performance metrics and assist in implementing corrective actions to improve efficiency and service levels.
- Coordinate with Planning, Quality, and Customer Service teams to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
- Assist in developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce all Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) policies and procedures.
- Support the “Target Zero” safety initiative and lead by example in maintaining a safe, organized, and compliant work environment.
- Ensure proper handling, labeling, and storage of hazardous materials (Hazmat/Hazcom compliance).
- Identify and report facility or equipment safety hazards and assist in corrective actions such as racking repairs or forklift maintenance.
People Management
- Help train, coach, and mentor warehouse employees, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and safety.
- Support employee scheduling, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions as directed by the Warehouse Manager.
- Assist in hiring and onboarding new staff and developing cross-training programs to strengthen team versatility.
- Participate in and help lead the warehouse safety committee.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to improvement projects focused on efficiency, inventory accuracy, and cost reduction.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflow, optimize space utilization, and enhance warehouse processes.
- Support ERP and WMS data integrity by ensuring accurate transaction recording and documentation.
- Assist with reporting metrics and presenting findings or improvement recommendations to management.
Customer & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Communicate professionally with internal departments, drivers, and external partners to resolve issues quickly.
- Support investigations into service or shipping errors, working toward 100% accuracy and on-time delivery.
- Serve as a backup contact to the Warehouse Manager for internal and external communication when needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years in CI or operations roles across manufacturing, with demonstrated Lean/Six Sigma expertise.
- Experience leading and delivering CI projects across multiple plant sites.
- Proficiency in CI and problem-solving tools
- Excellent coaching, influencing, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
