We design and manufacture critical products, from Switchgear and Automatic Transfer Switches to Power Distribution Units, that keep businesses, homes, and essential infrastructure running when it matters most.  Our solutions power Commercial, Industrial, Residential, and Critical Power environments, where reliability isn’t optional—it’s mission‑critical. At Thomson, you’ll be part of a team that delivers dependable performance, drives innovation, and makes a real‑world impact every day.

The Opportunity:

As we expand into a new manufacturing facility near Arlington, TX, we’re offering a rare opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Leader to build a sitelevel program from the ground up. Rather than inheriting existing systems, this role has the opportunity to shape how continuous improvement, problem‑solving, and operational excellence are embedded from day one. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to establish strong quality systems, improve processes, and resolve issues quickly and effectively through structured, data‑driven problem solving.

The Continuous Improvement Leader will own the site’s improvement roadmap and lead initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. This role facilitates kaizen events, advances daily management practices, and strengthens problem‑solving capabilities throughout the organization. In addition, you will oversee high‑impact, cross‑functional projects that support strategic objectives and provide leadership support in daily operations and issue resolution. This is a highly visible opportunity for a hands‑on leader who thrives on building systems, developing people, and driving sustainable results in a growing manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support site leadership in developing and executing the continuous improvement roadmap, including monthly priorities and actionable improvement plans aligned with business objectives

  • Partner with plant leadership to support execution of the Annual Operating Plan, with a strong focus on understanding business metrics and driving high‑impact improvements using an 80/20 mindset

  • Lead and support value stream planning and development, including defining future‑state vision, identifying challenges, and executing improvements through A3s and structured problem‑solving

  • Manage, track, and report on the portfolio of continuous improvement and kaizen activities across the site

  • Ensure the successful planning and execution of kaizen events by maintaining a dynamic improvement funnel aligned with value streams, daily management, and site priorities

  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert and coach on continuous improvement principles and tools, providing ongoing guidance to leaders and teams

  • Act as a change agent by constructively challenging existing approaches and performance to drive better outcomes

  • Lead the implementation of continuous improvement practices to improve safety, quality, on‑time delivery, and to reduce operating costs and inventory

  • Build strong problem‑solving capability across the organization by coaching leaders and teams and supporting leadership development programs

  • Conduct and coordinate local training to strengthen organizational understanding and application of continuous improvement tools

  • Continuously develop lean and continuous improvement expertise through ongoing learning and education

  • Lead and manage key cross‑functional projects and improvement programs that support strategic business goals

  • Collaborate with other business units and corporate teams to share best practices and support broader continuous improvement initiatives as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferable in Engineering or Supply Chain Management

  • Minimum of five years of related experience in manufacturing, operations, processing, continuous improvement, or a related environment

  • Two or more years of experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles or other Toyota Production System (TPS) based methodologies preferred

  • Demonstrated success applying a range of continuous improvement tools, such as Pareto (80/20) analysis, value stream mapping, 6S, standard work, visual daily management, Kanban or replenishment systems, FMEA, and structured problem‑solving methods

  • Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally as needed

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred

Benefits
  • Medical, Dental, Vision and Prescription Drug Coverage
  • Spending accounts (HSA, Health Care FSA and Dependent Care FSA)
  • Paid Time Off and Holidays
  • 401k Retirement Plan with Matching Employer Contributions
  • Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) Insurance
