Hexcel is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Co-Op for our Pottsville, PA, USA location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

• Utilize Lean Manufacturing Tools to increase productivity. (6S, Visual Workplace, VSM, Kanban, Kaizen, SMED, Mistake Proofing, etc.)

• Create Value Stream Maps (VSMs) and identify areas of improvement. (8 Wastes)

• Work closely with production, engineering, and quality to identify, create, and implement Mistake Proofing (Poka Yoke) devices.

• Participate as an active member of Kaizen events to rapidly improve processes.

• Actively engage in Root Cause Problem Solving teams (RCCA) and execute necessary countermeasures.

• Develop, maintain and/or improve Visual Workplace tools.

• Draw / revise plant layouts to increase flow and eliminate waste.

• Support Safety initiatives to increase awareness and reduce risk.

Qualifications:

• Field of study: industrial, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering or technology related fields.

• Previous experience in a Lean manufacturing environment a plus.

• Solid verbal and written communication skills are required, PC and AutoCAD / Visio skills preferred.

• Candidate must have ability to work with teams to define problems and solve problems.

• Must have solid organization skills and be able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
