The program manager is responsible for all aspects of developing, planning, executing, and evaluating the success of continuing education initiatives and assuring activities are conducted in accordance with adult learning principals and accreditation requirements. The program manager works closely with the continuing education coordinator to actively contribute to the development and implementation of continuing education initiatives.
Hybrid (in office/remote) work schedule is available upon successful completion of probationary period.
Anticipated hiring salary is $60,800 annually.Job Description:

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a knowledge of continuing education accreditation requirements for a variety of healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, pharmacists, etc. 

  • Apply accreditation requirements to all aspects of program development and implementation.

  • Ensure program documentation reflects accreditation compliance, educational goals, and desired results.

  • Contribute to the revision of policies and procedures as needed to support changing requirements.

  • Create program budget estimate; review estimate with client and planning committee members and revise as needed; monitor revenue and expenses against estimates; adjust budget and strategies as needed to meet financial goals.

  • Develop event marketing plan with the planning committee to reach participation goals.

  • Manage speaker coordination (review of instructional materials, curriculum vitae, audiovisual requirements, and travel arrangements).

  • Oversee post-program closeout ensuring compliance is fully documented and files are complete.

  • Solicit and manage exhibitors and contributors to meet financial goals, complete educational contribution funding applications and letters of agreement. Manage educational contribution funding requirements in accordance with accreditation standards and successfully complete reconciliations.

  • Collaborate with finance manager to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and appropriate use of program funds.

  • Serve on committees/project teams, both internally and externally, that align with the mission of KUMC and the department.

  • Work with continuing education colleagues on innovative program development.

  • Collaborate with continuing education coordinators on all aspects of program planning and execution.

  • Collaborate internally with staff of the office of Continuing Education and Professional Development, the Area Health Education Center statewide system and the University of Kansas Medical Center as well as externally with community partners.

  • Collaborate and assist with Area Health Education Center programs when feasible.

Required Qualifications

Work Experience: Four years’ experience in a health care, education, or business setting with increasing levels of responsibility.   Relevant education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. 

Preferred Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree in health care, public health, business or education. Education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. 

Work Experience: 

  • Previous experience in health care or academic setting. 

  • Previous coordination/management experience with continuing education/organization development projects.

  • Experience using learning platforms like eeds, Blackboard, Canvas, etc.

  • Grant writing and/or fundraising experience. 

  • Experience with adult education programs or continuing education programs.

Skills

Comprehensive Benefits Package:

Compensation Statement:

The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above. 

Pay Range:$60,800.00 - $91,200.00
