LS Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to provide support for the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) SE2025 contract, Cybersecurity Task Order. The successful candidate will support the FAA in the standardization, development and deployment of secure solutions that leverage enterprise infrastructure assets required to increase resiliency.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing a variety of documentation, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and proper methodology.
  • Translates business specifications into training manuals, procedural documents, flow diagrams, white papers, etc.
  • Develops and provides technical edits to engineering documentation, software documentation, manuals, reports, or any other documents or presentations.
  • Uses strong writing, editing, and communication skills to analyze and present complex information in a format that is easy to read and understand.
  • Develops high-quality documentation, with little or no guidance, that is easy-to-understand, easy to use, meets applicable standards, and meets the objectives and goals for the intended audience.
  • Gathers technical details from subject matter experts to create internal and external documentation and perform technical editing.
  • Interacts with FAA stakeholders to understand organizational processes and policies regarding modification of existing or implementation of technical and policy documentation.
  • Works directly with the project manager and FAA staff to ensure documents are following required standards and formats.
  • Writes, edits, formats, and reviews a variety of technical documents to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences.
  • Coordinates preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to be used in conjunction with written materials to accurate convey complex technical information.


Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 6-10 years relevant experience.
  • Requires ability to compose clear and coherent information to present complex and technical material for specific reader comprehension.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Skill in desktop or electronic publishing software, digital editing, and computer graphics strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and understand complex technical terms/materials.
  • Experience writing business requirements and system requirements (functional and non-functional) and other project and technical documentation is required.
  • Ability to adapt to changing document specifications and ability to manage a multi-author/multi-reviewer publication cooperatively is required.
  • Preferred experience in a cybersecurity environment
  • Ability to articulate and write to changing audiences.
  • Knowledgeable on document methodology, framework, versioning, etc.
  • Creative and detail oriented.


Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (English, Communications, Technical Writing or Technology Management, or related/relevant discipline).
