Summary:

Social Media Content Specialists focus on creating appealing and creative digital content for our various social media platforms. You will report to the brand manager but work daily with our social media manager and digital marketing manager to generate content that will promote customer engagement and brand awareness. The Social Media Content Specialist will create, implement and track social media initiatives across all Health Plan brands following the corporate social media strategy.

This role will manage day-to-day activity on all social media accounts for the Health Plan brands including maintaining a content calendar, writing and scheduling social post content, responding to social media comments and private messages, and optimizing video content.

Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Create and maintain a social media content calendar for each brand to aid in prioritization and internal communication.
  • Working with the Social Media Manager, Brand Manager and business leads, to create consistent and meaningful content on all social media platforms, including writing and editing social media posts, improving customer engagement, and promoting social media campaigns.
  • Understands and can translate each brand's tone and identity into relevant content to elevate our brand voice.
  • Create separate, individualized content for Excellus BCBS, Univera Healthcare and Lifetime Benefit Solutions brands.
  • Using our social media tool, schedule and post content across all our distributed platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
  • Support Social Media Manager in preparing routine reports on social media marketing efforts.
  • Suggests recommendations to adjust the social media marketing strategy for optimal results.
  • Stays up to date on best practices and emerging trends in social media.
  • Finds and understands opportunities for integration with our paid and earned content strategies and campaigns.
  • Covers live events and posts them to our social media channels.
  • Upload and optimize video content by linking it on our social platforms, writing social-friendly copy and changing thumbnails &headlines when necessary.
  • Responds to social media inquiries, comments and private messages on all social platforms.
  • Ensure compliance and that we adhere to government and corporate content guidelines and laws, applying them to all social media content.
  • Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Lifetime Healthcare Companies' mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct and leading to the Lifetime Way values and beliefs.
  • Maintains high regard for member privacy in accordance with the corporate privacy policies and procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
  • Performs other functions as assigned by management.



Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Marketing or relevant field. In lieu of degree, six (6) cumulative years of related professional experience required.
• One (1) year of copywriting, social media content writing or relevant experience required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram).
• Knowledge of marketing fundamentals.
• Strong writing, editing and communication skills and willingness to take initiative.
• Detail oriented, organized, and comfortable managing sensitive topic areas.
• Understanding general style guide rules and editorial standards.
• Upbeat and positive brand ambassador.
• Ability to occasionally work off-hours and weekends to cover events required.
• Experience with Photoshop, graphic design and/or video content creation preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel across the enterprise.


• Must be able to function while sitting at a desk viewing a computer and using a keyboard and mouse for 3 or more hours at a time.
