About the job
The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Senior Content Strategist, who will have a critical role in making Red Hat's offering documentation a competitive differentiator, to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will lead the creation and implementation of a comprehensive strategy, define content deliverables to support key business objectives, and review high-level development scoping information to determine initial resource requirements. You will work with the functional program, content services teams, and customer experience groups to ensure that content meets the needs of all internal stakeholders and, most importantly, that it provides an outstanding customer experience.
What you will do

  • Lead people and projects in an open way that inspires confidence
  • Demonstrate negotiation, leadership, and persuasion capabilities
  • Review high-level development scoping information and determine initial resource requirements to support initiatives
  • Assess the audience for your program deliverables and presentations and communicate clearly, concisely, confidently, and effectively in both written and verbal communications
  • Demonstrate complex problem-solving skills in resolving cross-functional issues within the program and documentation teams and negotiation
  • Develop, publish, and get approval for a content strategy plan of record from stakeholders and the documentation team members
  • Prioritize customer-related bugs and feedback from customer-facing stakeholders for continuous improvement efforts
  • Understand the impact of content decisions and strategy, not just within Customer Content Services team but also in other areas across Red Hat like Support Delivery team
  • Curate content for display on the product page in the Red Hat website for each offering release
  • Act as a single point of contact for stakeholders, provide approvals to program management teams, report status and negotiate changes to deliverables and schedules, communicate and get buy-in for the content plan to all relevant stakeholders
  • Divide the content strategy into executable tasks and ensure all tasks have owners
  • Determine writing schedules based on resource availability of the writing teams and the prioritization of requirements by the content strategist
  • Resolve blockers and solve other problems that arise during content development to ensure that writing is completed on schedule


What you will bring

  • Experience with the software development life cycle, including an understanding of the customer life cycle and knowledge of different content development and publishing methodologies, tools, and defect-tracking systems
  • Experience working with diverse sets of stakeholders to solve complex problems
  • Experience with structured, topic-based authoring, information architecture, and technical documentation workflows
  • Ability to gather requirements, think critically, negotiate, and communicate clearly
  • Ability to inspire others irrespective of their job title
  • Experience with agile and rapid iteration releases
  • Demonstrated success taking accountability for project delivery and completion
  • Comfortable with fast-paced matrixed work environments; experience with or interest in change management is a plus
