Why Sony Interactive Entertainment?

Sony Interactive Entertainment isn’t just the Best Place to Play — it’s also the Best Place to Work. Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is the company behind the PlayStation brand. As a subsidiary of Sony Group Corporation, we’re part of a proud legacy of innovation and excellence. SIE is a dynamic technology company, delivering cutting-edge hardware and network services to more than 100 million people and an entertainment leader, home to some of the most beloved and recognizable intellectual properties (IP) in the world. Our role at SIE is to create and nurture the experiences under the PlayStation brand, a name synonymous with entertainment excellence and creativity.

In May 2021, we embarked on a journey to start Haven Studios with a small team and big ambitions. Our goal was to build a studio where we could make the kind of games we’ve always wanted to create – and games we’ve longed to play.

We established a culture at Haven grounded in kindness, adaptability and courage that unlocks creativity. Our first new IP for PlayStation is on track to deliver a AAA multiplayer experience with a vision to build a systemic and evolving world focused on freedom, thrill, and playfulness that will keep players entertained and engaged for years.

Haven joined the PlayStation Studios family in 2022, and we are on track to build an exclusive new IP for Playstation and grow the first Sony game development team in Canada.

The Role

We are seeking an incredibly organized, logistics-driven Character Content Manager  to ensure our Character Art pipeline runs efficiently.

You do not need to be a formal people manager. Instead, your strength lies in world-class project management, pipeline optimization, and asset logistics. In this role, you will coordinate the massive influx of daily assets flowing from multiple global external development and outsourcing partners. Your focus is to ensure our character artists can focus on quality while you handle the complex traffic of schedule alignment, tracker integration, risk mitigation, and feedback loops.

Key Responsibilities

  • Asset Traffic Control & Logistics: Oversee the day-to-day intake, triage, and pipeline routing of dozens of daily character art assets (high-poly, low-poly, textures, rigs, blendshapes) arriving from external vendors.

  • Outsourcing & Vendor Integration: Partner closely with internal character art leads and external vendors.Partner closely with internal character art leads and external vendors. Establish clear delivery milestones, track SLAs and ensure optimized timeline is precisely met by outsourcers

  • Pipeline & Workflow Optimization: Design, maintain, and ruthlessly optimize the tracking systems (Jira, Shotgrid/Flow Production Tracking, Confluence) used to monitor asset lifecycles from concept to engine-ready implementation.

  • Dependency & Risk Management: Proactively identify bottlenecks across cross-disciplinary dependencies (e.g., ensuring character art handoffs to Rigging, Animation, and Tech Art happen smoothly without stalling production).

  • Feedback Loop Management: Facilitate communication between internal Art Directors/Leads, external partners and Producers of other teams.

  • Sprint Planning & Status Reporting: Own the sprint schedules for the character team. Maintain clear visibility on asset readiness metrics and escalate potential timeline risks to the Lead Producer.

What We Are Looking For

  • AAA Production Experience: Proven experience operating within a full-cycle, large-scale AAA game production environment, specifically managing content-heavy pipelines (Art, Maps, Outsourcing, or Asset Management).

  • Mastery of Project Management Frameworks: Deep practical knowledge of Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies adapted for game production pipelines. You know how to build a milestone plan that accounts for the unpredictability of art iterations.

  • Tool Proficiency: Expert-level mastery of Jira (including custom workflows, automation, and advanced filtering) and asset tracking tools like Shotgrid/Flow, Miro, or Airtable.

  • Outsourcing Literacy: Deep understanding of how external development partnerships function. You know how to read asset specification sheets, manage vendor milestones, and run an efficient delivery process.

  • Exceptional Communication & Diplomacy: The ability to navigate ambiguity and communicate seamlessly across technical, creative, and external business teams. You can push for deadlines while keeping relationships healthy.

  • Passion for Asset Mechanics: While you don't need to be an artist, you should have a solid understanding of the game art pipeline lifecycle

BONUS POINTS:

  • Experience shipping a Live-Service or Games As A Service (GaaS) title.

  • Experience with 3d Software  (maya, blender etc)

  • Experience with Perforce/Helix Core or engine integration tools (Unreal Engine).

  • Bilingualism (English and French), given our studio's location in Montreal

  • Character art experience

  • BIG bonus for knowing Python scripting/having experience coding your own tool

Atouts
