Job Description
Overview:
The Content Marketing Specialist (Alberta Homes) is a creative storyteller and strategist who will bring our homes and communities in Calgary and Edmonton to life through engaging digital content. From planning to shooting and editing, this role oversees the full content creation process—crafting compelling videos, photos, and written stories that highlight our homes, developments, and key initiatives. Working closely with the Marketing Manager, the specialist will ensure content is optimized across all channels, including social media, paid ads, email, blogs, landing pages, and more. With a keen eye for detail, strong video and photography skills, and a pulse on what resonates with target audiences, this role helps fuel our digital presence, support brand and sales goals, and drive measurable engagement.
Key Deliverables:

Understand the immediate and long-term needs of the Alberta Homes business

Build strategic content plans that address the product needs

Determine how the content will be gathered, what story needs to be told, and how it will be distributed (channel strategy)

Film required content – includes videography, drone video, still photography, Matterport camera
-
Edit content for various platforms and formats – paid social, organic social, broadcast media, long format (YouTube), email, homeowner portals, etc.

As required, coordinate content development with third-party vendors, supervise shoots, provide voice-overs and on-screen support

Liaise with other homes departments to ensure subject matter experts (SMEs) are consulted and captured in content

Provide creative feedback on video edits, including formatting for various channels, music selection and text captions

Approve final assets with the support of the Marketing Manager

Upload final content to websites and media library

Distribute final assets to internal team and external parties as outlined in the strategy
-
Monitor metrics to gauge success for the assets being created
-
Critically evaluate the relation between content performance and the marketing funnel

Establish benchmarks for media performance including engagement, views, and conversions

Support development and deployment of customer focused tactics aligned to the content strategy, including email marketing (Hubspot) and website updates (Sitecore)

Adherence to Brookfield brand standards across all platforms
What You Bring:
-
Diploma or degree in Marketing, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience
-
2+ years of marketing experience, ideally in the homebuilding industry
-
Strong video, photography, and editing skills with a creative eye for design and brand consistency
-
Ability to work independently and support teams in multiple locations; travel within Alberta (2–3 times/month)

Familiar with marketing funnels and creating tactics that drive engagement and conversion

Knowledge of paid media platforms including Meta (Instagram and Facebook), YouTube, and TikTok

Experience with marketing tools like HubSpot and website CMS platforms like Sitecore

Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to collaborate across teams

Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Creative Suite (or similar), with the ability to quickly learn new tools and platforms
