Do you thrive in environments where you can raise the bar for quality, collaborate across departments, and learn from your colleagues? Do you have experience in SaaS content creation and user-facing documentation?

As a Content Designer II at Lightspeed, you’ll work across departments with Product Designers, Product Managers, and other Content Designers to improve our documentation and enhance the overall product experience for our users. As an individual contributor on a small team, you should ideally have a background in content creation alongside experience working in a product environment. This is a unique opportunity to work in a company who is the leader in its market and continues to invest in expanding its advantage. In addition, you'll work in an exciting, fast-paced environment with experienced industry leaders.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Continuously develop, edit, and review strategic content for our customer Knowledge Base that includes, help articles, FAQs, and reference materials.
  • Create in-product workflows that will assist in onboarding and feature adoption.
  • Conduct content audits to identify gaps in existing Knowledge Base content.
  • Work in an Agile environment in sprints across multiple teams.
  • Identify user needs using data and feedback across multiple teams/stakeholders (Customer Success, Support, Retail) and prioritize content as necessary.
  • Help standardize terminology across content types (in-app, help articles, marketing materials).
  • Work hands-on with features to test functionality, provide usability feedback, and improve the user experience.
  • Partner with Design, Engineering, and Product Management to become familiar with new features and how they enhance our customer’s experience.

What you need to bring:

  • 3+ years experience in Content Design or Technical Writing.
  • Ecommerce and/or B2B SaaS platform experience.
  • Degree/Qualifications in English, Technical Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience designing and delivering customer-facing and technical documentation.
  • Experience of creating and maintaining editorial standards in a style guide.
  • Experience using Content Management Systems (CMS) to write, format, manage, and publish high-quality content. (E.g. Zendesk, MadCap Flare, etc.).
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and open-minded attitude to resolving problems and delivering results.
  • The ability to wear multiple hats, organize work, and operate in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate experience balancing multiple priorities at the same time.
  • Collaborative mindset, working with others across the company and within the Content Design team.
  • Experience delivering at pace using Agile methodologies.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation focused on adding value and thinking creatively.
  • Spot warning signs of things going wrong and provide a decisive response.
  • Identify the main issues in complex problems.
  • Make effective decisions by pragmatically weighing the complexities involved against the need to act.
