Content Designer

The role of content designer is a newly-defined one, and one that Tangible embraces fully. Tangible’s Content Designers are much more than copywriters, though they excel at writing compelling and engaging content. Content Designers think about the design behind the content with a focus on how to serve audiences the information they need, when they need it, and in a format they’ll understand. They closely collaborate with strategists and visual designers, and are comfortable working in Figma design files that bring their copy to life.

Responsibilities include:

  • Writing compelling and effective concepts, marketing copy for websites, emails, video scripts and other assets that are informed by project goals and guardrails provided by strategists, producers, and clients
    • Delivering several copy iterations on a theme, or varied options for consideration
    • Punching up copy (headlines, online ad copy) for marketing purposes, to drive engagement in support of client goals: click-throughs, sales, and feature adoption
    • Aligning content with existing brand editorial guidelines, voice and tone guidelines, and messaging/content strategies
    • Optimizing existing live content — working alongside analysts and designers to identify opportunities to improve conversion through improved usability
  • Collaborating with the project team (creative and content strategists, account managers, visual designers) on:
    • Development of new messaging/content strategies
    • Defining project delivery methods, deliverables, and timelines
  • Bringing a positive, inquisitive attitude to every assignment and demonstrating talents as a creative thinker and an expert in the craft of content development
  • Serving as an editorial resource on project assignments, reviewing copy for grammar, punctuation, client voice and tone; participating in QA efforts before assignments are completed

Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience writing marketing copy for websites, emails, ads, videos, or other online marketing efforts
  • Ability to write compelling content that adheres to client voice and tone guidelines
  • Experience writing for a variety of media and styles
  • Strong relationship management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong collaboration skills – works effectively as part of a virtual team or in person
  • Can prioritize concurrent projects and manage time effectively
  • Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision
  • Thorough and organized, with outstanding attention to detail
  • Quick learner who can pivot and adapt as client needs change
  • Willing to provide and receive constructive criticism and make changes based on feedback
  • Ability to keep sensitive client and agency information confidential at all times

Experience:

  • Must have at least 3-5 years’ experience as a marketing copywriter / editor / content designer
  • Proficiency with Google Docs and Figma
  • Experience with online project management (e.g. Teamwork, Asana) and communication tools (e.g. Slack, Teams) or similar
  • 2+ years agency experience preferred
  • 1+ years writing for SaaS and/or Fintech brands preferred

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience in the industry

Essential Mental/Physical Functions:

  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time using a computer or phone
  • Work alone or with others virtually or in an office environment
  • Travel may be requested or required based on client needs

Required Equipment/Software:

  • Personal equipment (e.g., computer, phone) is provided by each employee. Tangible provides a small monthly stipend to support personal devices and internet costs.

    • Figma design software
    • Microsoft 365 product suite (if required by a specific client/project)
    • Other software may be made available to employees by request and as required by select client engagements
  • Some client engagements will require the installation of key VPN and/or other software to access necessary corporate visual design and brand assets

“In addition to their amazingly creative work, what I loved about the Tangible team is that at the end of the day, my stakeholders could not tell the difference between an internal creative on my team and a member of the Tangible team. The engagement worked so much smoother than the typical agency engagement; it was much healthier for my internal team and much more successful with regards to the final outcomes.”
