The Team
The Design Team at SEEK is made up of 60+ professionals including Product Design, Visual Design, Research, Design Systems, Content Design and Operations. We are distributed primarily across Australia, Malaysia and Hong Kong. The Role
We’re looking for a tech-savvy, native Thai writer, who’s fluent in English, to help us create the best possible experience for our Thai customers, through high-quality translation and localisation.
As a Content Designer (Localisation) at SEEK, you’ll play a pivotal role in bridging communication across cultures and markets. You’ll ensure that all our product copy, marketing content, and other materials are not only translated accurately but resonate with our Thai audience in a culturally relevant manner. This full-time, hybrid role is designed to support our APAC business goals, aligning with the company's strategic objectives to enhance accessibility, inclusion and engagement in our diverse markets.
The role reports into the Content Design Lead and will work closely with other designers across our business. The content designer will also work cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, business analysts and marketing specialists.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Localise product copy, marketing content and other materials from English into Thai, ensuring they’re accurate, consistent, culturally relevant and reflect SEEK's voice and style
- Co-ordinate translation projects, using localisation tools such as Phrase, and collaborate with multiple teams to ensure timely delivery of material
- Work with your manager to set and align on priorities and timelines
- Work with Marketing to help define and align the brand voice for our Thai audience
- Help develop and maintain a Thai writing style guide in line with English standards
- Update and maintain glossary/terms list and translation memory tools
- Collaborate cross-functionally with others to ensure effective and cohesive content across all touchpoints and channels
- Continuously improve translation quality and process through feedback
- Help review translated research materials, such as surveys and scripts
- Build an understanding of product design and user-centered thinking
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Native fluency in Thai and fluency in English
- Strong writing skills with experience in translation, transcreation, proofreading and/or copywriting for a Thai audience
- In-depth cultural knowledge and ability to bring cultural nuance and sensitivity to localisation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and requests simultaneously
- A learning and growth mindset
Other Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Familiarity with localisation tools and practices (CAT tools, translation memory, etc.) or a willingness to learn
- Experience adapting tone and style for various content types and audiences will be valuable
- Experience localising online and/or mobile experiences or products is nice to have
- Experience in a tech/software environment is nice to have
- A general love and passion for writing and design, keeping across the latest advancements
