Job Description:

Are you a creative powerhouse with a passion for storytelling and digital content? This role is at the center of Shell NL’s Newsroom and vital to build, strengthen and enhance Shell’s reputation in the Netherlands. The Newsroom is an established way of working within the Corporate Relations team in the Netherlands. The successful candidate will be key in supporting Shell businesses and functions in the Netherlands by creating bar-raising audiovisual and digital content. You will drive and deliver the production of audiovisual content for Shell NL’s owned social media channels and optimize Shell NL’s digital user experience. As a hands-on video enthusiast you will also be part of the (in-house) studio production team for Corporate Relations in the Netherlands.

What's the role?

As part of the Corporate Relations team in the Netherlands, you'll report to the Manager of Content & Channels, collaborating with content creators, editors, (social) spokespersons, and corporate relations advisors. Your creative expertise will be instrumental in crafting engaging, audience-centric communications that add value to Shell's businesses and functions in the Netherlands.

In this fast-paced, dynamic role, no two days will be the same. You'll need to be flexible, adaptable, and ready to thrive in a close-knit team where every challenge is an opportunity for creative problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive and develop Shell's integrated internal and external audiovisual and digital communications in the Netherlands, aligning with Shell's strategy to deliver the energy for today, tomorrow, and beyond
• Collaborate with businesses and functions to transform their needs into engaging audiovisual and digital content
• Oversee the production of high-quality audiovisual and digital content for all Shell-owned channels in the Netherlands
• Act as the go-to person for audiovisual and digital productions from Shell businesses and functions in the Netherlands, handling brand-related inquiries around these productions
• Occasionally shoot and edit videos and photos for Newsroom usage
• Enhance digital and audiovisual content performance through evaluation, application of lessons learned, and utilisation of tools such as SEO, Digital Analytics, and social and digital platform statistics
• Share knowledge and insights with colleagues within Corporate Relations, empowering them to use and create visuals
• Drive continuous optimisation of Shell.nl user experience and collaborate with digital teams to stay abreast of global digital developments
• Network with other creatives within and outside of Shell to exchange ideas and provide critical oversight
• Build and manage relationships with an external network of creatives (agencies/freelancers) for high-quality audiovisual and digital productions

What we need from you

• Fluency in Dutch (writing, reading, and speaking)
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Tech-savvy with expert knowledge of Content Management Systems and Adobe Creative Cloud (e.g. Photoshop, Premiere Pro)
• Significant experience in designing and building engaging digital content, including creating impactful photo and video productions for digital and social media
• A creative and intellectually curious mind, with an interest in news, politics, and current affairs
• The ability to translate words into impactful imagery, getting to the core of a message with ease
• A team player mentality, with a proactive approach, always on the lookout for opportunities and improvements

Desirable skills and experience

• Expert knowledge of the Dutch digital and audiovisual production landscape
• Experience in setting up and running studio productions
• Proven knowledge of managing key external creative agencies in producing audiovisual and digital content
