Who We’re Looking For
You’ve worked as a reading interventionist or specialized reading teacher with students who have a wide range of reading instruction needs and disability designations. You are an expert in multiple Science of Reading-based frameworks, and the Science of Reading is embedded in every aspect of your instruction, planning, and assessment of students. You are a regular participant in the IEP process and have written reading-related IEP goals and present levels of performance. Additionally, you consistently seek out opportunities for improvement in every project, lesson plan, or initiative you’re involved in. You’re also curious about emerging technologies and how they can continue to support students and teacher outcomes in the K-12 school system.
This role requires flexibility, since project assignments can be distinctly different from quarter to quarter. You will use a variety of methods, including AI and collaboration with contracted content creators, to create research-based, standards-aligned content that supports students with disabilities with access to reading instruction. The ideal candidate thrives in constantly evolving environments, loves to learn, and is excited to lead projects that do not align with their previously-established areas of expertise. This role requires the ability to be critical of one’s own work and open to feedback.
Key Responsibilities
Manage projects
- Lead & collaborate on content creation projects in a variety of academic areas, including outside of your own areas of expertise.
- Gather internal data & metrics to drive strategic decisions.
- Communicate project objectives & outcomes to key stakeholders.
- Organize and maintain internal documentation systems and resources.
- Depending on the project, complete end-to-end workflow individually, or with contracted content contributors.· Seek feedback from key stakeholders and integrate their feedback.
Develop content creation processes
- Design & implement content production workflows that create optimal outcomes related to efficiency, quality, and cost.
- Frequently experiment & pivot content production workflows to integrate new learnings & technologies.
Drive Product Excellence
- Deeply understand Goalbook users through exploration of the product and consistent analysis of user data.
- Advocate for users by identifying evidence-based product improvements.
- Holistic understanding of Goalbook Toolkit, including areas in the product that are outside of personal education expertise.
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years experience as a reading instructional specialist in a US K-12 public school
- 2+ years leadership or coaching experience
- Experience with/or curiosity about generative AI
- Proficiency with/willingness to learn content creation & project management tools such as Google Suite, Asana, Miro, Zoom
