Role Title: Consumer Insight Manager - Cambodia & Laos
Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Background and Main Job Purposes:
- This role is crucial to inspire the business by spotting growth opportunities through business units, categories & channels, enable action points across 6Ps levers
- Provide consumer & customer knowledge across BUs in Cambodia & Laos by connecting the dot of available information both from external and internal Unilever.
- To succeed, the person in this role will be the main partner to GM Homecare Cambodia & Laos and Country Head Cambodia & Laos. While building partnership with other BUs commercial lead in Cambodia & Laos.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Lead consumer & customer connectedness:
- Identify the passion points and tensions of consumers, with depth of understanding on what matters to consumer.
- Understand consumer behaviours with strong motives/psychological reason.
- Co-creation with relevant consumer cohorts to ensure local insights are captured to equip the innovation deployment.
- Conduct consumer and shopper study to gain insights related to new ideas, concept, product, communication and in-store behaviour.
- Be data-centric with holistic pictures across available data sources.
- Establish consumer & costumer connectedness culture within the business.
- Identify potential growth opportunities in Cambodia & Laos:
- Observe pattern and connect the dot of multiple information to generate strong insights for the business, across BUs and one view of total country.
- Draw learning from comparing input metrics in consumer & market (distribution/TDP, price, promotion, SOV, etc) to output metrics of growth & share.
- Identify key issues and opportunities by deep dive analysis into category, brands, variants, pack sizes, consumer profile, demographics segment, etc.
- Develop thought leadership on macro situation, market dynamic and consumer trends.
- Influence strategy by turning complex questions into clear and concise actionable recommendations.
- Work in collaboration with marketing, CSP and CBP to drive insights into actions.
- Strengthen CI tools/approaches to improve the insights deliverable:
- Managing tracking data cross BUs, provide performance reporting/analysis and collaborate with agency partner to deliver insights, actionable recommendations and strong story telling.
- Seek possibility to experiment with new research tools, agile and efficient to answer business questions – explore digital solutions, social media listening, etc.
- Motivate, inspire & collaborate with agencies partner to ensure maximum value for the business (i.e. quality, timeline and services)

- Thriving in ambiguity with ability to make progress even at uncertainty and incomplete information, proactively building frame of thoughts.
- Outstanding organisational skills and attention to details, including the ability to manage multiple overlapping priorities to meet key deadlines, whilst ensuring high quality output.
- Local mindset with genuine interest of learning about the markets and their consumers, shoppers, retailers, and competitive dynamics
- Outside in mindset and obsessed by market, consumer and customer trends, with an eye to convert them into tangible business opportunities.
- A self-starter with strong bias for action to work under minimal brief, progress within fast-paced, think and action as integral part of the business.
- Effective team player by providing support as and when needed when working in team. On the other hand, experienced in handling agile ways or working.
- Functional experience – typically insights person or marketers looking to build strategic/big picture skills have done well in this role, or strategy specialist looking to broaden their business knowledge and skills
- Hard skills – excellent in Excell & Power Point to communicate the insights/story. Presenting complex information from large data in simplify visual and concise message
