Role and Responsibilities

We’re seeking a strong, hands-on PR professional to join our small, high-impact team to support product and consumer communications for OpenAI and ChatGPT across EMEA. This role will report to the EMEA Consumer and Product Communications Lead.

This role will play an important part in building consumer understanding, trust and love of our technology and products - showcasing the magic of ChatGPT’s intelligence and how it helps people get ahead in life and work.

The person will work cross functionally and partner with OpenAI’s marketing, product, communications and global affairs teams to:

  • Support the day-to-day delivery of product launches across EMEA - managing co-ordination with multiple EMEA agencies, whilst landing deeper proactive stories, content and case studies that show how our technology can help people get ahead in life and work.

  • Manage and support the delivery of creative, proactive communications campaigns, launches and events across multiple channels (media, influencers, stakeholders) which tap into popular culture and inspire, educate and build trust with mainstream audiences.

  • Manage the delivery of our earned influencer programme across EMEA.

  • Help prepare briefing materials, talking points, and media engagement plans for OpenAI spokespeople.

  • Build and maintain relationships with journalists and influencers across national, mainstream. lifestyle, culture, and technology across EMEA.

  • Overall, we are a small, horizontal team with everyone getting involved in a range of opportunities so the candidate must be comfortable being flexible and scrappy!

Ideal Experience
  • 6+ years of professional PR experience (agency or in-house), with expertise in mainstream consumer communications across multiple channels (owned and earned)

  • Strong creativity and proactive media and influencer relations skills, with proven ability to devise and manage campaigns

  • Experience supporting a busy media relations team, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines in a fast-moving environment.

  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with teams such as global affairs, legal, marketing, and product.

Additional Information
  • Contract period: 12 months. Subject to mutual satisfaction and internal headcount needs, we will look to extend the role to support our growing team.

  • The role is based in London and follows a hybrid work model of three days in the office per week.

  • Must be willing to travel internationally when required.

Skills Required

  • 6+ years of professional PR experience (agency or in-house)
  • Expertise in mainstream consumer communications across multiple channels (owned and earned)

  • Experience supporting busy media relations teams and managing multiple requests and deadlines
