Work Schedule: Days
- Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits, obtains pre-authorizations, and ensures compliance with Medicare and payer requirements.
- Registers patients accurately for services, confirms demographic and insurance information, and minimizes duplicate medical records.
- Creates patient financial estimates, collects payments, establishes payment plans, and performs cashiering and cash reconciliation functions.
- Coordinates communication between patients, insurance companies, clinical teams, and ancillary departments to support a positive patient experience.
- Provides excellent customer service by documenting patient and payer interactions, maintaining workflow coverage, and supporting PBX/switchboard operations as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Mature judgement in dealing with patients, physicians, and insurance representatives
- Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and familiarity with database programs
- Ability to effectively learn and perform multiple tasks, and organize work in a systematic and efficient fashion
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and written
- Ability to adapt in ever-changing healthcare environment
- Ability to follow complex instructions and procedures, with a close attention to detail
