The Role

Job Description SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Engine Systems Engineering Consulting Engineer to join our dynamic team. The GE Aerospace Consulting Engineer / Technologist leads projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business and is a recognized expert in this specialized field. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in systems engineering, they will bring forth an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the entire engine and the interactions between each module. They will also be responsible for providing expert consulting services to support the design, development, and implementation of complex aerospace engine systems and troubleshooting issues happening in the field.
In this role you will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues, attending high level system technical reviews, and providing mentorship and guidance to our engineering teams.

Roles and Responsibilities

As the Consulting Engineer, you will:

  • Serve as a recognized technical expert in a design discipline, components or component systems, and provides consultation to management, all design organizations, and supplier organizations
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experience engineers
  • Develop and implement training modules in certification as necessary.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and present outcomes to business leaders around part certification.
  • Serve as a recognized leader in defining the state of the art in own technical specialty to anticipate, develop and apply technology to current and future business opportunities.
  • Participate, present and/or review in technical and program reviews from certification point of view.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science from an accredited college or university
  • Required at least 8 years in a senior level technical function, working with engine systems and modules
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.  We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
