ERM is seeking a motivated Environmental Consultant to join our team in India to support the successful delivery of ERM projects by delivering multiple project tasks or components, and building effective working relationships within Division and across technical communities. Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform ESG and EHS due diligence for acquisitions, mergers, divestitures, joint ventures, capital raising, and project finance, including Equator Principles reviews and property transactions.
  • Conduct Environmental & Social (E&S) due diligence for project finance.
  • Execute Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ASTM 1527) and EHS Due Diligence.
  • Carry out desktop and field assessments of environmental and reputational risks, including:
  • On-site inspections and observations
  • Stakeholder interviews
  • Document reviews and discussions
  • Report preparation
  • Perform EHS compliance audits, management system assessments, and regulatory reviews.
  • Provide technical and advisory support for EHS permitting.
  • Assess soil and groundwater risks and liabilities.
  • Prepare proposals and estimate budgets.
  • Manage projects, ensure health and safety leadership, and maintain quality standards.
  • Communicate effectively in English and be open to extended travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, or related fields.
  • 2–4 years of experience in environmental consulting, preferably in due diligence, liability assessment, regulatory reviews, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain flexibility in work hours.
  • Strong English communication skills (written and spoken).
  • Excellent presentation skills and understanding of deal dynamics.
  • Knowledge or interest in corporate sustainability, sustainable finance, and ESG data analytics.
  • Willingness to travel across India and abroad on tight timelines.
  • Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and eagerness to learn.

Skills Required
