Job Description
As a Consultant, you will use your functional and technological knowledge to provide day to day support and development of clients commodity trading risk management systems covering a broad range of commodities including power, gas, refined products, coal and freight. You will work closely with all business functions from front to back office and an understanding of trading systems and the ability to ensure best practice is supplied to system support, upgrades and testing is vital.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assisting clients with business transformations through business process redesign and organizational change management.
- Architecting and delivering presentations and recommendations to client executives.
- Gathering functional requirements and creating functional design deliverables.
- Driving system configuration activities.
- Conducting test planning and execution activities.
- Developing strong working relationships with clients and team members.
- Continuously improving business knowledge, technical capabilities, and problem-solving skills, and helping clients and team members to do the same.
- Communicate effectively with clients, executives and third party vendors.
- Troubleshoot a variety of IT-related issues and resolve user issues quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to travel up to 60% across Europe.
Skills & Experience
- Educational and/or professional background in a quantitative field such as engineering, science, computer science, statistics, mathematics or a closely related field.
- 4+ years of experience working within Systems Implementations and/or Project Management, ideally within the Commodity/Energy trading sector E/CTRM.
- Experience with languages and technologies, such as C#, Java, PHP, JavaScript, database technologies including Oracle, Sybase and/or SQL Server.
- Knowledge of standard project management concepts, practices and procedures.
- Demonstrated analytical capabilities, adeptness with technical concepts, and a facility for learning new technology applications.
- Creative, enthusiastic, and able to thrive in a team environment.
- Open to potential frequent travel to client sites as required.
