We are looking for a highly organised and analytical Consultant to join our VAT Compliance practice in Portugal.
This is a unique role within the team, focused on enabling the operational success of the practice. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to provide business reporting, coordinate projects, monitor performance, improve processes, and support strategic initiatives.
The role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, managing multiple priorities, and collaborating across different business functions to improve operational effectiveness.
Business Reporting & Analytics
- Extract, consolidate and validate data from multiple internal sources.
- Produce regular operational and financial reports to support decision-making.
- Develop dashboards and reporting packs that provide visibility into team performance and key business metrics.
- Analyse trends and identify opportunities to improve operational performance and efficiency.
- Support leadership with KPI monitoring and performance analysis.
Practice Operations
- Coordinate workflows across the VAT Compliance practice to ensure priorities and deadlines are met.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential bottlenecks, and proactively support teams in resolving operational challenges.
- Track deliverables and maintain visibility across multiple ongoing initiatives.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of operational processes and ways of working.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate internal projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Manage timelines, action trackers and follow-up activities.
- Ensure effective communication between Compliance, Consulting, Finance, Legal and other support functions.
- Support operational planning and execution of departmental initiatives.
Executive & Management Support
- Prepare high-quality presentations for client meetings and internal leadership discussions.
- Compile and transform complex information into clear executive-level presentations.
- Assist leadership in preparing business reviews and operational updates.
- Produce materials that communicate performance, progress and strategic initiatives effectively.
Commercial & Administrative Support
- Prepare and coordinate client contract documentation, including standard and non-standard engagement contracts.
- Liaise with Legal to support contract review and approval processes.
- Support operational aspects of client onboarding where required.
Finance & Performance Management
- Work closely with Finance to analyse practice performance.
- Support revenue and operational reporting.
- Help monitor utilisation, productivity and other internal KPIs.
- Provide insights that support business planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Stakeholder Management
This role operates within a matrix environment and works closely with:
- VAT Compliance & Consulting teams
- Finance
- Legal
- Other internal business support functions
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in management, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
- Experience in business operations, reporting, project coordination or a similar analytical role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data clearly.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Advanced PowerPoint skills with experience preparing executive-level presentations.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Experience
- Preferred experience within a Professional Services, Consulting, Tax or Audit environment.
- Experience using reporting or data visualisation tools such as Power BI.
- Exposure to financial reporting and KPI management.
- Experience supporting process improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with project coordination methodologies and governance.
