We are seeking a talented individual to join the Advisory, Risk Consulting division at Marsh. This role will be based in Sandton, hybrid and has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
The Consultant will play a critical role in the preparation and quantification of complex property damage insurance claims. This position requires a deep understanding of property insurance, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, loss adjusters, and legal representatives. The Senior Consultant will lead projects and ensure the delivery of high-quality consulting services.
We will count on you to:
Claims Preparation: Lead the preparation of complex property damage claims, including gathering and analysing relevant data, documentation, and evidence.
Quantification: Accurately quantify damages and losses, utilizing industry-standard methodologies and tools to support claims.
Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert advice and guidance throughout the claims process.
Report Writing: Prepare detailed reports and presentations that clearly articulate findings, methodologies, and recommendations for clients and stakeholders.
Team Leadership: Mentor and train consultants and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Industry Research: Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to property damage insurance claims.
Collaboration: Work closely with legal teams, loss adjusters, and other stakeholders to facilitate the claims process and resolve disputes.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy, adhering to company policies and procedures.
All the above conducted under mentorship of, and reporting to FACS leadership.
What you need to have:
Degree in an Engineering discipline
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in property damage insurance claims consulting or a related field, with a focus on complex claims
Experience with Energy, Power and Construction claims will be advantageous
Insurance experience and qualifications beneficial
Must be completely comfortable and proficient with numbers and data analytics
Must be proficient on MS Excel
Report writing skills is critical
Good presentation skills
Ability to work under pressure, with minimal supervision and multi-task between a number of clients
Ability to understand clients business models and strategies in a short period of time
Must be creative and innovative in find solutions to complex problems
Ability to form sound judgements and conclusions, and be able to defend them
Able to assist with client and colleague queries, and communicate well
Ability to travel locally and internationally at short notice
