What you’ll do
Reporting to the Manager, Pricing & Promo Strategy, the Pricing & Promo Consultant's primary function is strategic planning and optimization of promotional activity at Mark’s. The Consultant leverages expertise across merchandising, marketing and analytics teams to build strategy and recommendations that maximize the efficiency & impact of product promotions. The Consultant will present their findings and recommendations to achieving business & customer related objectives at regularly scheduled meetings.
The Pricing & Promo Consultant is expected to make recommendations for offer optimization and if necessary, trade off changes between departments, marketing channels and calendar events.
This role offers a high level of autonomy while delivering quality and efficiency in the promotional program.
The role will provide consultation for Merchant and Marketing teams on offer selection, customer incentives and promotional strategy.
You will ensure promotions meet optimal product, price and frequency while best showcasing our assortment to maximize customer value, engagement and sales goals.
You will organize & prepare regular strategy reviews. Facilitate recommendations with effective presentation, tracking and follow up to ensure stakeholders are executing the action plan.
Support the build of print flyer and postcard creative layouts as required to ensure they meet financial targets and qualitative objectives.
What you bring
3-5 years experience in a marketing, advertising or merchandising role, providing analysis and consultation to business partners.
Post-secondary education, University Degree or equivalent in Business, Economics, Marketing or Finance.
Strong business and marketing acumen combined with an understanding of the retail landscape and customer segments.
Demonstrated ability to clearly and confidently communicate recommendations in writing & verbally as well as articulate trade-offs.
Excellent influencing, communication and interpersonal skills
Well-developed organizational skills with the proven ability to balance competing projects/demands.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and apply critical thinking to make recommendations with limited direction, within an approved framework.
Experienced MS Office user (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) demonstrating the ability to transform data sets, perform analysis and effectively present findings to stakeholders in a business environment.
Working knowledge of merchandising financials and analytics tools is an asset (Power BI, Quantisense, Microsoft Co-Pilot).
Motivated self-starter that is good at building relationships.
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Can use analytics to develop alternative approaches and ideas.
Demonstrated ability to influence more senior stakeholders.
Is committed to results by taking personal responsibility for achieving objectives, and collaborating with others to achieve shared goals and objectives.
Is adaptable and can apply lessons learned in one situation to another.

Broadband Salary Range: $53,000.00 – $88.000.00. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
