Here at Optum, we are looking for an Experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our Product Engineering team based in India. This role is ideal for a technology leader with solid foundation in software development, and team leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving end-to-end software delivery, from requirement gathering to deployment, while ensuring alignment with business goals and technical excellence and an insatiable appetite for continuous improvement and innovation. Primary Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the product team on defining the product requirements and product roadmaps
  • Writing PRD's and functional specifications for the Product features
  • Providing walk throughs of the Product Feature or Documentation to internal business and engineering teams
  • Obtaining feedback from clients, designers and developers and adjusting product specifications as needed
  • Defect analysis, User Acceptance Testing (PO review)
  • Validate requirements and assure compliance of the development outcomes with a customer's business goals
  • Coordinating with client teams and offshore teams
  • Identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that improve user experience
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of Experience breaking down requirements into feature level requirements and User Stories in an Agile environment
  • Background in Healthcare Industry
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals in a matrix environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and handling multiple projects
  • Proven flexible time, to work to overlap with US time, as the key stakeholder to work with are in US time-zone
  • Proven solid presentation skills with supporting tools such as Power Point, Excel etc
  • Proven solid Analytical and reasoning skills is a must
  • Proven excellent or demonstrated verbal and written communication skills are an absolute requirement
  • Proven organizational and leadership abilities

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of Product Management, Product development or Consulting experience (consulting between the business and a technical team, serving as a liaison)
  • Experience in Health Insurance Exchanges (HIX)/Medicaid Eligibility or Healthcare Eligibility/Enrollment in general
  • Industry knowledge of tools, techniques, and industry best-practices in an Agile environment
