In this role, you will support the smooth operation of the constituency office by managing and triaging the Member’s communications, organizing and prioritizing correspondence, and serving as the first point of contact for constituents. Working closely with the Member of Parliament, you will provide a combination of administrative, casework, and client service support, including answering calls, greeting visitors, managing emails, and assisting with data entry and filing. In this role, you will contribute to a team where your work will help strengthen the office’s service and help deliver meaningful support to the community.
QualificationsEducation:
- Post-secondary education from a recognized institution or an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience.
Experiences:
- Customer service experience in an office setting providing reception or administrative support.
- Confidentiality, professionalism, discretion, tact, and diplomacy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Experience collaborating with others and working in a team.
- Experience preparing formal correspondence.
- Excellent written and oral communication abilities, with great attention to detail.
- Experience managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines in demanding, fast-paced environment.
- High degree of flexibility with changing workplans including occasional evening and weekend work hours.
- Experience or ability to use social media and online graphics creation programs.
Assets:
- Experience working with a Member of Parliament or a political office.
Salary to be negotiated commensurate with experience and qualifications.
