The Opportunity

We're looking for the Wavemakers of tomorrow.

Alphawave Semi enables tomorrow’s future by accelerating the critical data communication at the heart of our digital world – from seamless video streaming to AI to the metaverse and much more. Our technology powers product innovation in the most data-demanding industries today, including data centers, networking, storage, artificial intelligence, 5G wireless infrastructure, and autonomous vehicles. Customers partner with us for mission-critical data communication, our innovative technologies, and our proven track record. Together, we enable the next generation of digital technology.

Connectivity Systems Engineer, CTO Office

As a connectivity systems engineer, you'll define and develop the technologies that underlie the next generation of our products. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in system-level simulations of 100+Gbps/lane electrical and optical links using Matlab, Python and/or other programming languages. They'll also be able to correlate lab measurements with a system model and improve link performance in the lab. You'll work directly with the CTO on solutions that scale with our customers' emerging demands for AI and infrastructure computing and networking. Together with other members of the CTO Office and our central engineering groups, you'll develop complete optical and electrical connectivity solutions, including designs in the world's most advanced CMOS technology nodes.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform numerical and analytical modelling and simulation of next-generation electrical and optical links, delivering speeds beyond current 200Gbps/lane standards
  • Use, enhance, and develop simulation platforms for architectural exploration of new approaches
  • Derive specifications for components, circuits, and signal processing features in future products
  • Provide input to our CTO, product marketing, and engineering teams on the expected performance and required features of next-generation solutions
  • Engage and collaborate with other members of the CTO Office and our central engineering groups to turn your ideas into prototypes
  • Prepare and present analysis internally to marketing and engineering teams and externally to partners, customers, and standards bodies

What You'll Need

  • Master's or PhD degree with 5 years' relevant experience
  • Experience with and a strong mathematical understanding of the analytical and numerical modelling of system-level electrical and optical communication systems and components at 100+Gbps
  • Experience interpreting and incorporating measurements of electronic interconnects, amplifiers, and components such as the S parameters, jitter, and SNDR into system-level models
  • Programming experience in Matlab, Python, and/or other programming languages
  • Strong technical written and oral communication and presentation skills

Personal attributes:

Can-do attitude. Strong team player. Curious, creative and a problem solver. Execution and results-oriented. Self-driven and highly accountable. Organized and efficient. Good communication skills.
