About BlaBlaCar Daily
BlaBlaCar Daily is part of BlaBlaCar’s Western Europe business dedicated to short distance carpooling and in particular work to home commute. It is operated with a dedicated mobile application and brand. Strengthened by the acquisition merger of Klaxit in April 2023, short distance carpooling usage is growing rapidly, in collaboration with local collectivities (B2G) and private employers (B2B) co-financing partners.
You will join a team of engineers operating independently of other products at BlaBlaCar and contributing actively to the software development of the product. This can include Insights, our reporting solution for B2G and B2B customers, matching of driver and passengers and carpool features, as well as new features to support the needs of our members, partners and local collectivities. Our team is composed of experienced people that have worked on successful services before.
Your Mission
We are looking for a Confirmed Fullstack Engineer to join us on the development of BlaBlaCar Daily on the Partnerships squad. You will work on technical challenges and product feature developments related to topics such as user identify & account management, pricing and everything related to partners management (app customization, subsidies management, partners portal and Backoffice management of sponsoring campaigns). You will be involved in all parts of the development, from the early conception meetings, development and test strategy, to deployment in production, on-call, observability, and support. You will mainly work on backend features with occasional contributions to our frontend projects.
Your responsibilities
- Participate in the whole application development lifecycle, including: early-stage product meetings, architecture design, development, tests strategy, deployment to production, monitoring, alerting and support
- Support and collaborate with other engineers on the team to develop our backend projects together
- Adapt existing feature implementations to growing scalability challenges
- Develop new functionality to meet internal and external demands required for Daily to remain compliant in the markets we operate in
Your qualifications
- We are looking for a Fullstack candidate with at least 5 years of experience
- Deep expertise in Python (Flask + FastAPI) and React (React router + TypeScript + vite.js). You can seamlessly switch between backend logic and frontend UX
- Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL). Experience with PostGIS is a strong plus.
- Computer science background (Strong engineering fundamentals in Database design, algorithms and data structures, networking, abstractions, security)
- Ability to find the good balance between fast iterations and quality of delivery
- Ability to take ambitious technical challenges from conception to production-ready
- Fluent in using AI-assisted development tools
- Fluent in French and English
