Job Description

Configuration Manager to oversee the configuration management process across construction project, ensuring that all systems, processes, documents, and deliverables are properly controlled, maintained, and documented throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will work closely with project teams to maintain consistency, minimize errors, and ensure all configuration items align with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.

  • Create a baseline for design, specifications, procured items, schedule, cost, and risk registers. 

  • Maintain change request logs for any change materially affecting the project. 

  • Run the internal CCMB (or equivalent). 

  • Interface with the Commercial / Project Controls to escalate changes to the main CCMB. 

  • During implementation, maintain records of all site documentation and assets, and track any changes to them. 

  • Oversee the identification, control, and tracking of configuration items (e.g., drawings, specifications, materials, equipment) across the project lifecycle. 

  • Work with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to establish configuration baselines for project documents and technical data. 

  • Coordinate version control, ensuring that all changes to project documents are documented, tracked, and communicated to relevant stakeholders. 

  • Provide training and guidance on configuration management best practices to team members and stakeholders. 

  • Ensure audits, reviews, and quality control processes are in place to verify the accuracy and consistency of configuration items. 

  • Resolve configuration-related issues and discrepancies, providing timely solutions and updates to the project team. 

  • Maintain regular communication with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure configuration compliance and consistency across all phases of the project.

 

Required Skills and Competencies

Work Conditions:

  • Office-based, with occasional visits to construction sites for configuration management activities. 

  • Full-time, with potential for extended hours or overtime to meet project milestones and deadlines. 

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related field. 

  • 3+ years of experience in configuration management, document control, or project management within the construction or engineering industry. 

  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, project documentation, and configuration management systems. 

  • Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and other construction management software tools (e.g., Project Wise, Aconex, SharePoint). 

  • Experience with version control systems and document management tools. 

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple documents and data points across complex projects.
