ASR International is seeking an experienced Configuration Manager to support the Joint Communications Support Element (JCSE) enterprise infrastructure and Configuration Management (CM) program. The Configuration Manager will support configuration identification, configuration control, status accounting, verification, audit, and change management activities across a complex Department of Defense (DoD) enterprise environment. This role is responsible for maintaining configuration baselines, ensuring CMDB accuracy, supporting Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities, and helping ensure the integrity and traceability of enterprise IT and communications systems throughout their lifecycle.
The Configuration Manager will work closely with Government stakeholders, engineers, cybersecurity personnel, asset managers, and operational support teams to ensure configuration management processes are executed effectively and in accordance with established IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices. The Configuration Manager supports the Senior Configuration Manager in executing Configuration Management processes and maintaining the integrity of enterprise configuration data.

The Configuration Manager will work closely with Government stakeholders, engineers, cybersecurity personnel, asset managers, and operational support teams to ensure configuration management processes are executed effectively and in accordance with established IT Service Management (ITSM) best practices. The Configuration Manager supports the Senior Configuration Manager in executing Configuration Management processes and maintaining the integrity of enterprise configuration data.
Responsibilities:
- Support configuration identification, configuration control, configuration status accounting, configuration verification, and configuration audit activities for enterprise IT systems.
- Maintain and continuously improve the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ensuring Configuration Items (CIs), relationships, and attributes remain current and accurate.
- Coordinate, document, and support Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings, working groups, and change management reviews.
- Review, track, and report Requests for Change (RFCs), engineering changes, deviations, waivers, and implementation activities.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of Configuration Management Plans, Change Management Plans, CCB Charters, SOPs, and supporting governance documentation.
- Establish and maintain configuration baselines for hardware, software, network infrastructure, and associated documentation.
- Support Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and coordinate configuration management efforts across multiple stakeholders.
- Validate implemented configuration changes and ensure modifications are accurately reflected within the CMDB and supporting repositories.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and CMDB data quality reviews to improve accuracy and integrity.
- Support configuration verification, audit activities, and corrective action efforts to ensure compliance with approved standards and procedures.
- Prepare monthly status reports, metrics, meeting minutes, and supporting documentation.
- Provide user guidance and training related to configuration management processes and CMDB usage.
- Maintain traceability of approved changes and support lifecycle management of enterprise infrastructure assets.
- Collaborate with Government and contractor personnel to support mission readiness and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of Configuration Management experience supporting enterprise IT, telecommunications, or Department of Defense (DoD) environments.
- Active Secret security clearance required. Must be a US citizen.
- ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent IT Service Management (ITSM) training.
- Experience developing, implementing, and maintaining Configuration Management processes and CMDB solutions.
- Experience supporting Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), change management programs, and configuration audits.
- Knowledge of configuration management principles, lifecycle management, and industry best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience developing or maintaining Configuration Management documentation, SOPs, workflows, and related governance artifacts.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment.
- Experience supporting Joint, Air Force, Combatant Command, or other DoD organizations.
- Experience with ServiceNow or other enterprise ITSM/CMDB platforms.
- Experience supporting enterprise network, telecommunications, SATCOM, or mission-critical communications environments.
- Experience supporting Functional Configuration Audits (FCA) and Physical Configuration Audits (PCA).
- Prior experience supporting Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities and enterprise change management programs.
- ITIL, Security+, or other relevant industry certifications.
