Configuration Management Database-CMDB Architect

The Team:

This is a unique opportunity to join a newly formed Mobility Global organisation at a defining stage of its technology journey. The CMDB Architect will have the mandate to establish strong foundations, influence enterprise-wide operating models, and use modern tools, automation, AI-enabled capabilities, and ServiceNow platform innovation to deliver a futuristic CMDB platform that becomes the single and trusted source of truth for Mobility Global.

Responsibilities and Impact:

The CMDB Architect will own, manage, and govern the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) capability for Mobility Global, ensuring it becomes the trusted single source of truth for technology assets, configuration items, services, platforms, products, and operational towers across the organisation.

This role will play a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of Mobility Global’s operational ecosystem. By creating a governed, trusted, and automated CMDB capability, this role will directly support service reliability, change impact analysis, security operations, vulnerability management, asset visibility, product ownership, and technology decision-making across the enterprise.

This role is critical to Mobility Global’s next phase of transformation as the organisation stands up its own CMDB landscape, exits Transition Service Agreement dependencies, and establishes a standalone, operational, governed, and future-ready CMDB capability.

• Own the overall CMDB strategy, architecture, governance model, roadmap, and maturity journey for Mobility Global.

• Define and govern the CMDB data model, CI classes, attributes, relationships, lifecycle standards, naming conventions, and source-of-truth principles.

• Engage with business and technology stakeholders across Mobility Global to understand requirements, define priorities, and translate business needs into a practical CMDB roadmap.

• Lead the establishment of CMDB as the authoritative single source of truth for service management, SecOps, vulnerability management, infrastructure, cloud, applications, products, and other operational towers.

• Own and optimise ServiceNow Discovery, service mapping, integration patterns, and automated data ingestion into the CMDB.

• Govern the quality, completeness, correctness, and compliance of CMDB data through defined controls, health metrics, dashboards, reconciliation rules, certification processes, and continuous improvement practices.

• Partner with ITSM, ITOM, SecOps, Vulnerability Management, Cloud, Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, and Product teams to ensure CMDB data enables operational excellence and decision-making.

• Establish CMDB operating models, ownership structures, stewardship responsibilities, RACI models, audit routines, and governance forums.

• Drive the CMDB workstream during the next 12–18 months of Mobility Global’s TSA exit and standalone transition journey.

• Enable automation, enrichment, AI capabilities, and next-generation ServiceNow platform functionality to strengthen the CMDB as a strategic enterprise capability.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.

• 8+ years of experience in CMDB, Configuration Management, ITOM, infrastructure operations, or related enterprise technology roles.

• Strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow CMDB, ServiceNow Discovery, CI relationships, reconciliation, normalization, data certification, and CMDB Health capabilities.

• Deep understanding of CMDB governance, CSDM-aligned design principles, CI lifecycle management, data quality management, and enterprise configuration management practices.

• Experience developing CMDB roadmaps, maturity models, operating models, and governance frameworks in complex enterprise environments.

• Strong knowledge of ServiceNow modules and capabilities including ITSM, ITOM, SecOps, Vulnerability Response, Asset Management, integrations, automation, and platform data models.

• Experience with hybrid technology landscapes, including infrastructure, network, applications, endpoints, cloud platforms, and third-party integrations.

• Ability to engage confidently with senior business stakeholders, technical teams, service owners, product owners, architects, and operational leaders.

• Strong communication, facilitation, consulting, and executive presentation skills.

• Demonstrated ability to lead transformation initiatives, define standards, influence adoption, and drive measurable improvement in CMDB quality and usage.
