The Role

At Walmart Advanced Systems & Robotics, we're building the infrastructure that will power the next generation of retail experiences. Our automated pickup and delivery systems use a combination of robotics and software to efficiently handle large volumes of online orders, streamlining operations for managers and enhancing the customer experience. The role will be supporting the software release process. Work with hardware and software product development teams to define the software bill of material structure. Work closely with members of various software teams to understand how their components need to be configured. Ensure proper implementation of software changes, update documentation for each change, and maintain software configuration control by working with the team on all changes and implementation planning of sites. Will be responsible for Software Configuration Management Plans and associated documentation to ensure we follow a robust process.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON:

  • Managing Software Engineering artifacts and the interdependencies between them and managing build releases and build verifications
  • Maintaining configuration control of software baselines
  • Managing software change documentation
  • Support ECO & DCO generation ensuring appropriate implementation to site
  • Monitor, promote and ensure document control processes are being followed.
  • Support cross-functional teams in the revision and release process.
  • Support the release and distribution of all change control items.
  • Working with the change analyst facilitate Configuration Review Board (CRB) and stakeholder approval
  • Provides SME guidance and support for all CM and DM competencies including PLM.
  • Ensure high levels of communication with team, support resources and management regarding issue identification and resolution.

  • Effective communication skills to provide critical feedback to ensure the process is followed and data quality is excellent.
  • Must be able to interface with a variety of people with different technical levels and educational backgrounds.
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Must produce accurate and timely results while maintaining a customer-service attitude.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 8+ years’ experience in Configuration Management
  • Experience with version control and change management tools
  • Prior experience in Software Configuration Management and Implementation
  • Requires basic knowledge of product release procedures for a durable capital goods design, manufacture and service company.
  • Ability to work under general direction.
  • Experience using a PLM system.
  • A four-year degree or a two-year degree augmented with courses and/or seminars in engineering change control, change requests is preferred. Or applicable experience.
