Job Description

Position summary:

Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies by selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. This person should have experience organizing work groups, coaching employees, monitoring progress, enforcing rules and ensuring quality compliance. You must possess strong communication and leaderships skills as well as the ability to resolve workplace issues effectively. The lead will be excited about guiding, training and supporting their team members and is highly motivated to help our company fulfill its larger mission. The successful candidate will be people-centered, supportive and flexible to get the most of his/her team. You should also be a natural leader that’s focused on inspiring employees to own their work and deliver better results.

Responsibilities:

  • New Data Creation
    • Guide and support Product Development Teams on CM activities
    • Attend Team Material meetings and report on the status of all BOMs, parts, and documents
    • Coordinate initial release of new part/BOM/doc objects and review for completeness
    • Facilitate part/BOM/doc lifecycle progression and release by using reports to show status of objects preventing promotion in WC
  • New Data Extension
    • Work with Engineer to release BOMs / Parts to manufacturing for planning, prototyping, production, and sales.
    • Manage data extension priorities per program build schedules
    • Notify customers upon completion of data extension
  • Initiate Part/BOM Extension requests through Proto. Initiate material/ BOM creation within SAP by populating data on the SAP dashboard
    • Initiate Part/BOM Promotion requests. Initiate material validation from prototype to production status within SAP on engineering behalf. 
  • Intervene with businesses to resolve data issues
  • Change Review, Impact Analysis, and Approvals
    • Review submitted ECNs for completeness. 
    • Initiate ECN Impact Analysis. 
    • Manage ECN approvals. 
    • Managing creation of new Part/BOM/Documents
    • Systematically initiate ECM’s ECN’s through Windchill
    • Audit BOMs extended to the plant via ECN to ensure accuracy
  • Leadership Responsibilities
    • Lead small teams, and set performance goals and project deadlines that align with the company’s larger plan
    • Delegate work to employees, track progress, and provide constructive feedback throughout the progress
    • Address issues with employees, and other concerns in a timely manner
    • Address problems with quality of work
    • Act as a link between subordinate and upper management
    • Conduct performance reviews
    • Motivate team members
    • Assist management in creating strategies to enhance productivity, and process improvements

Required skills and experience:

  • Experience in data Management and BOM Lifecycle.
  • Proficiency in Windchill, SAP or similar systems for BOM and part management.
  • The ability to work effectively in a global environment with cross-functional teams and resolve data-related issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Willing and able to travel (approx. 10%)

Preferred skills and experience

  • 3+ years of experience in the Automotive or related Industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a leadership role, with a track record of motivating and prioritizing team efforts.
