As a Configuration Control Specialist, you will be responsible for the coordination, review, maintenance, and revision of all technical configuration documentation within the business unit. Works with Configuration Control Specialists across other business units to ensure that everyone is working towards the corporate vision of configuration control.
What you'll do
- Provide support overseeing and administering large internal documentation sets and all related administrative activities for Central Engineering departments and other Enterprise Functional Groups, providing regular status reporting
- Coordinate and administer site level specification and standards subscriptions for Engineering departments and sites/Business Units as assigned
- Act as a site level central administrator and coordinator for records archiving through the third party storage facility and directly manages all Central Engineering records archiving requirements
- Generate and maintain component repair routings for multiple products and business units at the Winnipeg site
- Provide hands-on support to StandardAero business units to establish, transition, correct or maintain configuration control and engineering data, systems or processes relating to technical documentation, documentation records, shop routings, bills of material, parts data, etc.
- Develop and maintain work instructions, training materials and documentation relevant to the performance of Configuration Control, document administration, and records management activities
- Provide training for document administration, records management and configuration control systems or procedures to Configuration Control Specialists, functional groups and business unit personnel
- Perform audits on documentation and configuration control data and processes to ensure accuracy, compliance to procedures and system requirements, and identify process improvement opportunities
- Provide support as part of the central team for the development and continuous improvement of software based configuration control and engineering systems and data sets
- Troubleshoot configuration control issues
- Carry out special projects as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- College diploma in a field of engineering technology, quality control, or an equivalent of several years of experience in an inspection or quality role associated with technical documentation
- Practical experience in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with a strong understanding of Excel and Access, and a high comfort level learning and navigating software applications.
- Must be authorized to work in Canada on a permanent basis.
Preferred Qualification:
- Strong attention to detail with interest in process improvement.
- Strong organizational, analytical, decision making, leadership, interpersonal, planning, oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of records management, documentation control and configuration control/management practice an asset.
- Understanding of database management and tools (Access, Power BI) and SQL queries.
- Experience reviewing, auditing, or processing technical documentation with accuracy standards
- Experience identifying and correcting documentation discrepancies in accordance with company procedures.
- Experience maintaining controlled records in accordance with regulatory or quality management system requirements.
