The Conduit Bender is responsible for accurately measuring, cutting, bending, and installing electrical conduit to support electrical systems and equipment. This position requires knowledge of electrical conduit installation practices, the ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications, and the ability to produce quality work that meets project requirements and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience bending various types of conduit, including EMT, rigid, and IMC, and will have a strong understanding of electrical layouts, measurements, and installation requirements.

Requirements

What You’ll Do: 

  • Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner. 
  • Utilizes and abides by all safety procedures. 
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend electrical conduit according to job specifications and electrical drawings. 
  • Perform accurate bends using hand benders, mechanical benders, and other conduit bending equipment. 
  • Install conduit systems while maintaining proper alignment, spacing, and support requirements. 
  • Interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, layouts, and installation drawings. 
  • Calculate conduit bends, offsets, saddles, and measurements accurately. 
  • Ensure conduit installations meet applicable electrical codes, safety requirements, and quality standards. 
  • Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy, fit, and compliance with specifications. 
  • Identify and resolve issues related to conduit routing, measurements, and installation. 
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and electrical installation equipment safely. 
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area. 
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality requirements. 
  • Work collaboratively with electricians, supervisors, and other team members to complete projects efficiently. 
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. 
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. 
  • Documents actions with correct forms. 
  • Willing to perform other manufacturing tasks as directed and when needed. 
  • Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions. 
  • Other duties as assigned by Management. 

Who You Are: 

  • Previous experience with electrical conduit bending and installation required. 
  • Knowledge of EMT, rigid, IMC, and PVC conduit systems preferred. 
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and blueprints. 
  • Ability to accurately measure, calculate, and apply conduit bending techniques. 
  • Knowledge of electrical installation practices and safety standards. 
  • Ability to use conduit benders, hand tools, and power tools. 
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate the English language and follow verbal and written instruction. 
  • Must have excellent listening skills. 
  • Must have strong attention to detail.
