Job Description

The successful candidate will use ultrasound and vibration condition monitoring devices to provide Maintenance and Reliability Team with advance warning signs of equipment defects, thus giving them means to anticipate asset failures, control energy costs and improve profitability by preventing waste and unscheduled downtime.  Tracking motor health from data provided by electricians to schedule replacement prior to failure.

  • Follow all plant rules and be coachable.

The successful candidate will own the condition monitoring and lubrication program at our site, as follows:

  • Bearings, motor health, gearboxes, couplings, chain and belt drives and other power transmission components condition monitoring (i.e. data collection, analysis and maintenance).
  • Compressed air, steam and HTF systems – leak detection and maintenance
  • Arcing and corona on electrical panels

The successful candidate will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor with most of collaboration with Reliability Engineer.

Basic Qualifications

  • Acute hearing and vision while using headphones to collect ultrasound and vibration data on pre-established routes on industrial equipment such as, but not limited to: conveyors, elevators, power transmission, electrical panels, steam, hydraulic and compressed air systems etc.
  • Detailed understanding of tribology and lubrication systems, processes and precision lubrication.
  • Ability to understand technical drawings, mechanical components, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, electrical schematics, electrical panels.
  • Ability to perform basic mechanical and electrical tasks such as, but not limited to: drill & tap; bearing removal, installation, set-up and maintenance; shaft and sheave laser alignment; basic sheet metal fabrication; basic rigging; basic wiring and electrical construction.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools such as, but not limited to: screwdriver, hammer, combination wrenches, adjustable wrench, pinch bar, punches, power-drill, tube bender, grinder, reciprocating saw etc.
  • Ability to climb ladders, use scaffolding, operate aerial equipment and work on elevated platforms.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Certified Lubrication Specialist MLT1 Certification preferred.
  • Level One Ultrasound Certificate preferred.
  • Ability to perform infrared inspections.
  • Ability to perform visual inspections.
