The Computer Systems Analyst I provides several phases of the required systems analysis where the nature of the system is predetermined, uses established fact-finding approaches, knowledge of pertinent work processes and procedures, and familiarity with related computer programming practices, system software, and computer equipment.
Principal Accountabilities:
Formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding.
Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
Coordinate the analysis and design of automated solutions to business problems
Upgrade computer software systems and correct errors to maintain system after implementation.
Review computer system capabilities, workflow and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
Determine software implementation schedules.
Confer with departments and project managers to obtain information on limitations and capabilities of existing systems.
Analyze new hardware to determine its need or application in the existing system or new systems.
Develop general and detailed documentation describing system specifications and operating instructions.
Revise existing systems and procedures to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, conversion and storage.
Perform other qualified duties as required.
The Systems Analyst carries out fact finding and analyses as assigned, (usually of a single activity or a routine problem); applies established procedures where the nature of the system, feasibility, computer equipment and programming language have already been decided; may assist a higher level systems analyst by preparing the detailed specifications required by a computer programmers from information developed by the higher level analyst, and may research routine user problems and solve them by modifying the existing system when the solutions follow clear precedents. When cost and deadline estimates are required, results receive closer review. The supervisor defines objectives, priorities, and deadlines. Incumbents work independently; adapt guides to specific situations; resolve problems and deviations according to established practices; and obtain advice where precedents are unclear or not available. Completed work is reviewed for conformance to requirements, timeliness, and efficiency.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or Equivalent required.
CompTIA Security+ Certification.
Microsoft Windows 10 Certification.
ULSS-A(E) trained.
Shall have at least two (2) years of experience working with ULLS-A(E) STAMIS.
Shall have at least one (1) year of instructor experience for ULLS-A(E) users.
Shall have ULLS-A(E) authorizations.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
Demonstrated capability working with management information systems and data processing techniques.
Results oriented with exceptional organizational skills able to work independently.
Knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems, web application development and relational databases.
