JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
What You Will Do with JT4
The Telemetry Network Standards(TMNS) Computer Scientist will develop software and follow systems engineering practices within a small development team. TMNS is still in its early stages and this role will be part of initial design and implementation. You will identify development opportunities, potential risks, adhere to technical guidance, foster collaboration, properly comment out code, and meet scheduled goals.
JOB DUTIES & EXPERIENCE
- Advise team and project managers on technical problems
- Interact with customers and project managers on a regular basis
- Use judgment and initiative in developing analytical and computational technologies and methodologies for problem solving
- Assist with the interpretation of customer requirements
- Work with team members to develop the most appropriate approach to solve technical problems
- Assist in the design of system/software and associated design documentation
- Participate in design reviews
- Implement design through software coding or hardware and appropriately document the design implementation
- Plan and execute unit, integration, and system testing
- Assist in maintenance and sustainment activities of system/software
- Perform other job-related duties, as required
- Data decommutation principles with an understanding of time synchronization, real-time systems, and data serialization formats
- Capable technical writing skills and verbal communication
- Familiarity with telemetry standards (IRIG 106, IRIG 218-10)
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
A bachelor's degree in an associated discipline is required for this position.
In addition, a Computer Scientist II must possess the following qualifications:
- Experience with computer-based systems and applications
- Programming skills in languages used for job-specific programming tasks
- Familiarity with the application of industry standard hardware and software design and documentation techniques
- Effective verbal and written communications
- The incumbent must possess a valid, state issued driver's license. Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen.
SALARY
The expected salary range for this position is $ $124,000 to $140,000 annually.

JT4, LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required.
Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
